Jeevan Bikas Volunteers Day 2016
Jeevan Bikas Samaj celebrated its first Volunteers Day on 19 April by organizing various social activities at local level. The slogan for the day was “Jeevan Bikas Samajko Aawhaan, Desh Bikasma Shramdaan.” It admitted a sincere approach towards donating labor for the development of our society. As well said that little drops of water make a mighty ocean, likewise, small efforts towards task of social welfare helps to build the nation. The 71 branch offices situated at the working area of JBS in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Illam, Dhankuta, Udaypur and Sindhuli districts of Nepal started celebrating Volunteers Day since 23rd March 2016 in a grand manner by coordinating with the members, staffs, social workers, members of political parties, staffs of government and non-government organizations. Various programs like school, market and temple cleanliness, house building and handing to the responsible person, road building and maintenance, health camp and many others were organized. Altogether 1692 activities were recorded as a part of the program organized throughout the working area of JBS. Some of the moments are depicted below in brief;
As a tribute to the martyr Mr. Shibu Majhi who lost his life in the Madhesh Aandolan, JBS built a complete house and handed the house to his family on the same day by organizing a small ceremony. The complete house includes house with latrine, safe drinking water, smoke free stove and light.
Awareness Raising Program and Chakmake bazaar area cleaning program was organized by JBS Chakmake Branch. 175 people showed their encouraging participation in the program.
JBS Tagandubba Branch organized road repairing program in the coordination with 30 members.
Eye Camp organized by JBS Aitaware Branch where more than 300 people solved their various eye problems.
